Upgrade of Stella Obasanjo Hospital: Edo Govt. signs contract agreement to procure non-medical equipment

In continuation of the ongoing expansion of the Stella Obasanjo Hospital, Benin City, the Edo State Government has signed a contract agreement with three companies for the purchase, supply and installation of Non-Medical equipment for the hospital.

A Press Statement by the PR unit of the State Ministry of Health disclosed that the contract signing agreement on Monday, January 9, was to ensure a speedy completion of the massive upgrade of the hospital  to a specialist hospital status. 

The expansion, which commenced last year, is part of the mid-term goals of the Obaseki administration’s Edo Health Improvement Programme designed to achieve infrastructural and service upgrade of the Stella Obasanjo Hospital and also the establishment of at least one specialist hospital in each of the state’s three senatorial districts.

In her remarks at the contract signing event, the Commissioner for Health Prof. Obehi Akoria congratulated the three companies for scaling through the selective process. Messrs Sabtrakk Projects Limited won the contract for the procurement of office appliances, Bluehub Limited for the procurement of IT & Audiovisual Equipment and Reed Priceman Limited for the procurement of Office Furniture and Specialized Equipment / Tools.

“We carried out our due diligence with all stakeholders to be sure that people who have been awarded with the contracts are people who have track records for delivering of quality services and projects. I urge you to renew your demonstrated commitment in ensuring that you fulfill your contractual obligations hereafter,” She said.

Also speaking, the ministry’s Acting Permanent secretary, Dr Stanley Ehiarimwian told the contractor that the government expects that the quality of work would be top of the range while they will also meet timelines
