New UNFPA Country Rep. presents Letter of Credence
Dr Gifty Addico, the new Resident Representative of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) in Nigeria has presented her Letter of Credence to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Fund’s Media Associate, Hajiya Kori Habib in Abuja on Wednesday.
Habib stated that Addico, a Ghanaian, was most recently, Chief of the Commodity Security Branch in the Technical Division of UNFPA Headquarters in New York.
She added that the new UNFPA Nigeria boss had provided strategic direction and technical leadership for the Fund’s global work in family planning and reproductive health supplies.
She explained that Addico is a medical doctor with several years of experience in strategic leadership in international development and health programmes at global and national levels.
Accompanied to the ministry for the official ceremony by UNFPA Nigeria senior management staff, Habib stated that as resident representative, the new boss will provide vision and leadership for UNFPA Nigeria.
