Bauchi governor tests positive to COVID-19 as cases jump to 44
The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, has tested positive to coronavirus.
A statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Mukhtar Gidado confirmed the governor’s status just as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control confirmed two new cases of the dreaded virus, bringing the total number of persons infected in the country to 44 as at Tuesday March 24 by 6.25pm local time.
The governor had gone into self isolation immediately he heard that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s son had tested positive to coronavirus.
Both of them had interacted while they were travelling to Abuja from Lagos.
