WACDI commences second medical outreach

War against Chronic Disease Initiative 2.0 (WACDI) a new non-governmental organization based in Lagos will, on Saturday, April 28, begin its second medical outreach at Ifako LGA with the theme: “Obesity as a chronic disease.”

The President of the group, Olujide Mayowa, who made this known to Nigeria Health Online (NHO) said this second edition is targeted to impact about 500 people in Ifako Local Government Area.

“This medical outreach will entail: Free aerobics. Topics to be tackled include: Obesity as a chronic disease, need for periodic checkup, Best weight management strategies, comprehensive medical checkup and counselling, free medical reliefs and supplement, free access to medical card for home consultation among several others,” Mayowa said.

Speaking further, he said the War against Chronic Diseases became an idea in February 2017 and resulted into a medical outreach “WAR AGAINST CHRONIC DISEASES.”

“Our first medical outreach took place at Isolo LGA last December. About 234 adults benefitted which involved free medical sensitization, health trainings, free comprehensive medical checkup and provision for free medical reliefs and supplements.
