Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), operator of the joint venture between the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and CNL ,  emerged Best Exhibitor at the 2017 Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE) of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), which took place in Lagos  from July 31 to August 3, 2017.

At the award night held on Wednesday, August 3,  at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos to round off the conference, CNL’s Frank Ogbuagu, Reservoir Simulation Engineer, clinched the prize for the Best Technical Paper.  The  paper, titled “Managing Reservoir and Operational Decline without a Rig: An Okan Case Study,” was co-authored by Femi Afolayan, Femi Esan and Nsitie Obot – all CNL employees.

CNL was adjudged the best exhibitor based on its excellent performance in the assessment criteria of content/quality of material exhibited, aesthetic of booth, audience engagement and conduct of booth personnel. The assessment of exhibitors was conducted by Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC), an international Consultancy Service Company employed by SPE to appraise exhibitors.

The company  was earlier on Saturday, July 29, honoured with a Distinguished Corporate Support Award by the Lagos Section of the SPE at its Annual General Meeting also held at the Eko Hotel and Suite. The award was received by Eddie Agbongiator, Onshore Asset Manager on behalf of the company.

Mr. Esimaje Brikinn, General Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs (PGPA) of CNL, expressed the company’s appreciation for the recognition and award

“We are delighted to receive the awards because SPE and members of the adjudication panel thrive on excellence,”  he said..

The PGPA General Manager commended Mr. Ogbuagu, other CNL SPE members and the company’s Exhibition team for making the Company proud. “I thank our SPE members and exhibition team for their excellent work which has brought us honour,” he said, adding  that the company’s performance and participation is a reflection of the company’s commitment to self-development, professional networking and the overall growth of the oil and gas industry.

NAICE is one of the largest annual upstream Oil and Gas events in Africa. It attracts industry practitioners at all levels, as well as key stakeholders. It also offers players in the industry the opportunity to learn, debate and challenge ideas to chart the right course towards a sustainable future for the industry.
