Breaking: Police take over NHIS office

Policemen have been drafted to the office of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in Abuja following workers’ protest over the reinstatement of the Executive Secretary, Prof. Usman Yusuf.

Yusuf was reinstated by the Federal Government on Tuesday, Feb. 6 following his suspension June 2017 by the Minister of Health, Prof. Issac Adewole, following allegations of gross misconduct.
