HEWAN holds Symposium on mental health

Eminent Psychiatrist Dr. Richard Adebayo is expected to lead discussions at the 7th annual symposium of the Health Writers Association of Nigeria (HEWAN) which kicks off on Friday.

A statement signed by the President of the Association, Mrs Chioma Obinna announced  that Dr. Adebayo will be joined by the Chief Executive of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Dr. Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu who will be speaking on Disease Outbreaks from the perspective of the NCDC and Dr. Sani Aliyu who will speak on  “The Burden of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.”

Dignitaries expected at the symposium which holds at the Surgical Skills Centre of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH),  include the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, the chief host,  and Prof. Chris Bode, the Chief Medical Director of LUTH , the  Chairman of the occasion.

The event will be attended by health correspondents in all Nigerian newspapers, online media,  radio and television stations.
